October, we are hosting a day on the theme of Exploring Prayer and have invited
all the churches in the South Western area of the synod. There will be a
number of sessions about various aspects of prayer and the day will be led by
Revd Paul Stokes of Plymstock
United Church,
who is also a representative of GEAR. The cost will be £5 per person, to
include tea and coffee and a light buffet lunch. If anyone would like to
attend please speak to the Minister, Secretary, Chris and Isobel Evans, David
Maling or Roy King-Underwood, who will be able to give further information and booking forms .
Churches Together in Broadstone – Praying Together
Please pray for all students who did
not get into the University of their choice and particularly for those who were
not successful in their applications and are having to explore alternative
choices.
Autumn Festival - Lytchett Minster URC
On Saturday, 11th
September, Lytchett Minster URC are holding their Autumn Festival (combined
with the Dorset Churches Cycle Ride). There will be Produce and
Bric-a-brac stalls, as well as refreshments from 0800 - 16.00; ranging
from early bacon butties to late cream teas via drinks and cheese rolls.
They are looking for help with all aspects of the day, and also donations of
produce and bric-a-brac. If anyone is able to help in any way, whether
for just an hour or more, please contact Pat Johnson as soon as possible.
Last year our Minister,
Caroline, took part in The Great Sponsored Cycle Ride with proceeds shared
between Lytchett Minster URC and the Dorset Historic Churches Trust.
Unfortunately Caroline cannot cycle this year, so if you would like to take
part in cycling or walking to visit some well-known and other less-visited
churches, please see Caroline today for a sponsor form and list of
participating churches, or call in to LM URC next Saturday. The starting
point, route and number of churches visited (whether 1 or 50+!) is entirely a
matter of personal choice.
